SCHEERHORN

Raymond M. Scheerhorn, age 69, passed away, Thursday, April 6, 2017.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry and Grace (Dykstra) Scheerhoorn; his sister, Karen Kuiper; brother-in-law, Tom Kuiper. 

Ray is survived by his sister, Patricia Scheerhoorn; his many cousins; his close friend Marc Kidder; and many friends from his graduating class at Wyoming Park High School (1965) who assisted him and kept in touch over the years.  The family would like to extend a special thank you to Debbie and Diane and others from Healthcare Associates for their compassionate care. 

Ray served in the U.S. Army and was an Eagle Scout.  He enjoyed tying flies and fly fishing.  His most favorite times were the many fishing trips to Chapleau, Ontario catching pike and walleye. 

Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, April 13, at Cook Memorial Chapel in Grandville (east building), with visitation prior to the service beginning at 10 a.m.  In honor of Ray, contributions may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.  The family welcomes memories and messages in their guestbook online at www.cookcares.com.
