MEADOWS -  Keith Andre Meadows was born on October 12, 1961.  He was the sixth and last child born to Carl and Flossie Meadows of Paris Township, which later became the city of Kentwood, Michigan.

As a child, Keith was fun loving and easy to get along with.  His ability to charm, even when caught doing wrong, saved him from the belt many times.

Like most of the children raised on Potter Street, Keith formed deep friendships with his peer group, many of which continue to this day.

From a cute, slyly mischievous boy, Keith grew into a handsome, charismatic and self-possessed young man who was capable of doing anything he set his mind to do.  Active in high school sports and well liked, Keith played on the Kelloggsville High School varsity football team and was elected to the homecoming court.

Upon graduation from high school, Keith followed his older brother to Michigan State University (MSU).  Keith obtained his Bachelor of Science degree from MSU in 1985 and after graduation began his career as a Sales Representative for Monsanto.  For five years he successfully worked territories in eastern Pennsylvania and southern New Jersey.  His intellect, sincerity and personal integrity allowed him to be positively received by rural farming communities not used to seeing or interacting with African Americans in any capacity and made him one of the top earners in the region.

It was during his residence in Lancaster PA, while with Monsanto, that his only child, Andre Philip, was born with Pamela Ann Key (Goodman).

Deciding he wanted to make more of an impact on youth, Keith once again followed his older brother, this time into university administration.  He obtained his Master of Arts degree in Education Administration (Student Affairs) in 1993, again from MSU.   He then began a succession of increasingly responsible positions in university housing/student affairs in institutions across the United States, including:  Chaminade University (Hawaii), Eastern Michigan, George Mason University (Virginia), Georgia Tech and the University of Miami.

Upon his death, Keith was serving as the Assistant Director for Housing at Florida A&M University in Tallahassee.

As a teenager, Keith was baptized into the Franklin Street Church of Christ and attended services at the various congregations in the cities in which he worked and lived.

Keith was, at his core, a humble, non-judgmental man.  He loved God, his family, and was a role model for many.  His many successes never altered his intrinsic kindness and fundamental respect for all people.

Most recently, Keith struggled with a number of serious health issues.  Despite the weight and severity of those issues, Keith continued to be optimistic in both his work and personal interactions until his untimely death.

Keith was preceded in death by his mother and father and sister Barbara Ann (Sam) Davis.  Keith is survived by his son, Andre, and his siblings: Sandra Kay (Edwin) Lewis, Shirley Marie (Bruce Sr.) Maxwell, Carl Dewayne (Pamela) Meadows and Geneva Louise Meadows; his aunts Francis Woodson and Stella Brewer; his stepfather, John Jefferson Sr., and the Jefferson children: Terry, Larry, Beverly, Gwen (Clark) Gilbert, Brenda (now deceased) and John Jr. (Joyce) as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Service will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, November 11, 2017, at the Grandville Church of Christ, 3725 - 44th St., S.W., Grandville, MI 49418.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to service.

Keith will be sorely missed and his memory cherished by all.

We love you Keith - yesterday, today and always!
