WIERENGA

Harriet Wierenga, age 100, went to be with her Lord, Tuesday, July 4, 2017.  She was preceded in death by her first husband, John Schutter; her second husband, Gerrit Wierenga; her children James Schutter, Shirley Schutter; son-in-law, Cliff Faber; Gerrit’s son, Warren Wierenga, daughter-in-law, Ruth Wierenga; and her grandsons Dirk Wierenga, Brandon Schutter and Dean Wierenga; brother, Bill Warners.

Harriet was and is lovingly remembered by her children James (deceased) and Marcia Schutter, Shirley Schutter (deceased), Marge and Cliff (deceased) Faber; Gerrit’s children, Roger and Ruth (deceased) Wierenga, Don and Arlene Wierenga, Phyllis and Rodger DeVries, Warren (deceased) and Elaine Wierenga; her 20 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; many great-great-grandchildren; and  brother, Ollie Warners. 

Harriet was a Licensed Practical Nurse.  She and Gerrit loved to travel, driving all over the U.S.  Harriet was loved by so many.  Every week the whole family was welcome for coffee at Grandma’s after church on Sunday. 

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, July 8, at Cook Memorial Chapel in Grandville, 4235 Prairie St. SW (east building), with visitation prior to the service beginning at    12 p.m.  Rev. John Witvliet will officiate.  Interment will be at Grandville Cemetery.  In honor of Harriet, contributions may be made to Sunset Legacy Foundation (Sunset Association’s Benevolence Fund).
