Elmer Henry Lick

October 19, 1925 ~ June 1, 2017 (age 91)

LICK -  Elmer Henry Lick, age 91, of Hudsonville went to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday, June 1, 2017 following a brief illness. 

Elmer was a very selfless man, always giving of his time to his family, church, and friends.  He was a founding member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church of Jenison where he held many positions, and was a recent member of New Hope Lutheran Church of Hudsonville.  Elmer was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during WWII.  After the Army, he delivered mail in Jenison, and then worked for Kelvinator, where he retired after nearly 40 years.  His favorite pastime was Polka dancing, playing golf, and cards (especially Euchre).  Most recently, he enjoyed going to the Senior Center in Grandville to spend time with friends.  He was born October 19, 1925 in Boyne Falls to Henry and Wanda Lick. 

He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Joan Lick; brother and sister, Alfred Lick, and Marge Fowler. 

He will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his children, Craig Lick, Kathy (Jeff) Meeusen, and Kristi (Bob) Morse; grandchildren, Craig II (Sharmalee) Lick, Jenny (Bryan) Ryktarsyk, Jason (Katie) Meeusen, Melissa Morse, and Amy (Tony) Narvaiz; great grandchildren, Bryanna Ryktarsyk, Tyler Ryktarsyk, Ryan Meeusen, Nathan Meeusen, and Carson Narvaiz. 

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, June 5, 2017 at the Cook Memorial Chapel (East Building), 4235 Prairie, S.W., Grandville, with Pastor David Rufner officiating.  Interment will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.  Relatives and friends may meet his family Monday, June 5, 2017 from 11 a.m. until the time of his service at the funeral home.
